    A very thought provoking interview. The message seems to be that things are developing at a faster rate than i expected. Following a relatively normal 10 year cycle with difficulty developing in 2026 to 2027 may not be the right pattern. Thank you for the great interview

    My disagreements with Danielle: The song matchmaker-matchmaker is from the movie "Fiddler on the Roof". Bank balance sheets are filled with Pristine Treasuries that can be revalued UP literally overnight IF/When the Fed starts cutting interest rates Dis-inflation is everywhere, esp in goods where there is outright Deflation! First a melt-up to a Blow-off-Top and THEN followed by a massive deflationary collapse.... not just yet...

    Back in 2022 when btc was at its cycle low, people where saying btc is done for it's going below $15k US it's going to zero. Well it's down 10% from mid March ath 2024 and now everyone is shitting themselves. That doesn't make any logical sense especially for crypto.Its just a shake out phase, chill people go zoom out at old charts. We are at around 1.4 trillion market cap and only growing, just wait and see the price next year in March it will double....I've been engaged in active trading and managed to grow a nest egg of around 2.3Bitcoin to a decent 24Bitcoin....I'm especially grateful to Linda Wilburn, whose deep expertise and traditional trading acumen have been invaluable in this challenging, ever-evolving financial landscape.

    Powell's 12months of not loosening??? Really??? For the last 12 months, each every time when the stock market was faltering, Powell came out to prop up the market with jaw boning of loosening which is now the only thing in his tool box due to inflation. This woman has too much dogma and careful propaganda underneath her seemingly scientific research. Too patriotic perhaps.

    i just watched an interview with Howard Marks, and one of his guiding principles for investing is to ignore macro-economicss, because its difficult to find an economist that is right often enough to rely on. However, he later went on to say he is a believer in cycles and does make decisions depending with where we are in the cycle and especially at the extremes. The challenge is knowing exactly what that extreme is. Thanks Ted, great interview. I have tremendous respect to you and Danielle. As a small time investor, I trully appreciate your wisdom and knowledge. Best!

    Unless one is a trader ...and I wouldn’t recommend THAT highly risky gambling practice... It’s the height of foolishness to be at this stage in the cycle with a potential political bombshell lurking; absurd stock prices in Mag 7 etc. Especially since a very nice 5% return with no risk can be had in treasuries, and even a capital gain if long! Speaking of Mag 7: You do know most of them got killed in the movie.....

    Gas Lighting? Look in the Mirror 😂 Danielle DiMartino Booth has made claims suggesting that John Maynard Keynes might have been the first to conceptualize a digital currency that could replace the dollar. However, this appears to be a bit of a stretch. There is no historical evidence that Keynes specifically envisioned a cryptocurrency or a digital currency in the modern sense. Keynes was primarily known for his advocacy of government intervention in the economy and the creation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, which were intended to stabilize global financial markets and currencies post-World War II [❞] [❞].The idea that Keynes would have supported or conceptualized a cryptocurrency is speculative at best. In the 1930s and 1940s, Keynes focused on policies to manage economic cycles and promote global economic stability. While he might have supported innovative financial mechanisms, there is no direct link between his work and the modern concept of cryptocurrency [❞].

    • @johnbirman5840

      She’s referring to leveraged loans on Airbnb properties. Since you own “free and clear” would you borrow for new properties today, and would you be as happy as you are now if you had to refinance this year via a commercial real estate loan? Free and clear is a different barrel of fish than a say 9-10% loan. But perhaps I’m wrong.

    I think what Danielle is talking about in the 24th minute is because of lenders confidence in government bailouts. In fact, considering that there is an election a few months away, the lenders may have been instructed to continue doing it by the biden administration, even funneled the money to do it with, in an effort to sustain the markets ahead of November?

  • @stephenbush7200
    @stephenbush7200 5 днів тому

    I don't think a lowering of the interest rates in August no matter what any report says is the answer. I think what is more important than kicking the can down the road again is allowing the weaker, poorly run, and unprofitable companies and the people who have made seriously bad decisions to be flushed out. And two, I think inflation is much to serious of a threat to middle and lower income people to give it ANY slack in the rope. Interest are not high where they are. They are ONLY high in a dysfunctional economy running on very poor decisions made by people in government and business who should be displaced for more competence. We should be filling critical decision maker positions at every branch, sector, industry, and level of government in our society with only the best and the brightest AND morally sound -minded people who have proven and secured our confidence in them by pure merit.. The economy needs to reset! Let it before the last opportunity to fix it is gone. Otherwise, the next biggest economic earthquake we are going to hear is the need for a whole new currency, maybe one bigger than the Euro. We cannot sustain this intentional debt destruction of the dollar and expect goods and services across the board to remain at what Americans have been reasonably accustomed to. Inflation is going to skyrocket and wages and government benefits won't come even remotely close to keeping up with it.

      Well yes and no. Realized profit is vastly different than unrealized profit. I listened in 1st week of Jan, 2022 for 90% of Stocks/Bonds portfolio. Glad I did. The previous portfolio mix is still a few percentages down, while Gold and Short term investments are about 15%+ up in Realized Profit. Most people talk about the S&P being up such and such amount. But most people do not own 100% S&P. Bond Funds were and are still CRUSHED! A 60/40 fund like Vanguard Wellington is still down about 9% - in 2.5 YEARS!!

    Reserve for loan losses at BofA and Well Fargo are up ~ 2B for last year. These are all assumption based reserves, and can be manipulated on the over under specific to the banks situation. It's a huge increase on it's own but I expect way under what they really need given their weak financials. It's all about affordability when you book reserves, i.e., can our P&L afford the hit this quarter....

    BTC can disregard techincals when in a bull, did that in 2020 when it crossed previous ATH... stayed there a few weeks and continued pumping like crazy to 60k. Also, there is one constant... when around 90 on monthly RSI, the end is near. And don't expect crazy price targets of 500k... expect around 100k at most and be happy if there's more after that. If you believe big boys and CEO's of big invesment firms saying targets like 1M this cycle.. you deserve to be their exit liquidity..It's not about guessing the market's next move; it's about playing it smart and steady during trading...managed to grow a nest egg of around 2.3B'tc to a decent 21B'tc in the space of a few months... I don't trust Danielle's inflation outlook, I agree that we are likely in recession but I see it as being led by collapsing aggregate supply (meaning prices will likely rise going forward). That being the case, long bonds would be a terrible investment. Aggregate supply is contracting, imo, due to rising costs of production and falling productivity: The previous interest rate rises have increased the cost of capital, wage rises have increased the cost of labour, and energy costs are higher. Alongside that, DEI and ESG policies have crippled productivity, and the post-lockdown period is one with a persistently lower labor force participation rate. Finally, demands for work-from-home rights is further harming productivity. That does not set the scene for falling prices, so my preference is to avoid bonds and opt for precious metals instead. Precious metals will explode higher in both an inflationary recession or a deflationary recession, so why take unnecessary risks with bonds?

    Great channel and great interview. However, I worry that Danielle DiMartino Booth cherry picks data to give the negative side of the story. There is plenty of data showing things are just fine. I am sure a recession is on the way, but I do not think anyone can predict if it will be next quarter or in 2 years. Anyone who has been listening to the doom and gloom has missed out on a great stock market run. There are always pieces of data in any economy that show problems. You have to look at the big picture. Panic too soon and you could be sitting in cash for years while the market generates great returns.
